Madison's Expert Arborists

Madison's silver maples went in when the houses did, and many are now three times the size of the roofs they hang over. We take the risk out of that picture.

Why Madison

Big maples, small houses, honest work.

Serving Madison through our Nashville crew, with the same expert arborists, the same standards, and 24/7 storm availability.

Madison's older blocks were planted with silver maples because they grew fast, and seventy years later that bargain has come due. Very large, soft wooded maples now stand over small houses from Amqui to the Neelys Bend peninsula, where river bottom soil pushes growth even faster. It is some of the highest tree risk in Davidson County, and it rewards a careful, trained eye.

Why an Expert Arborist Matters in Madison

Madison has the county’s toughest version of a common problem: very large, fast grown silver maples standing over small houses. The species hollows as it ages, holds a full green crown while it does, and gives little outside warning before a leader lets go. On Madison’s older working blocks, where lots are narrow and the tree is often twice the height of the roof beside it, the difference between a maple that can be managed and one that must come down is measured in inches of sound wood. That is a call for an experienced arborist, not a guess from the curb.

So that is what you get. An arborist conducts every estimate in Madison, checks structure and decay rather than just size, and specs the work to ANSI A300 industry standards. The plan and the price come in writing before work is scheduled, and a Certificate of Insurance is emailed before work begins.

Madison’s Tree Challenges

Oversized silver maples are Madison’s signature risk. Planted for fast shade when these neighborhoods were built, they are now among the largest residential trees in Davidson County, soft wooded, often hollow, and standing over houses a fraction of their size. Some can be reduced and cabled into more years of service. Some cannot. We tell you which, with the reasons in writing.

Neelys Bend river soil grows big trees and loose footing. The peninsula’s bottomland pushes fast growth, then saturates in wet winters until root plates shift. Trees out the Bend that lean a little more each year are telling you something. We read soil heave and root exposure on every estimate out there, because windthrow on a saturated bend is a whole tree event, not a limb.

Deferred maintenance canopy is common on blocks where the trees have never once been pruned. Decades of deadwood and overextended limbs come due eventually, in Amqui and along the Gallatin Pike corridor the same as anywhere. A first structured pruning visit resets the clock and nearly always costs less than the damage from waiting.

Madison FAQ

Local questions, local answers.

Don't see your question? Call us. Every call is answered by a human arborist, day or night.

Do you serve Madison?
Yes. Our Nashville crew covers all of Madison, from Amqui and the Gallatin Pike corridor out to the tip of Neelys Bend. Call for a free on-site estimate.
How fast can you get a crew to Madison?
Estimates are scheduled within 24 hours, and emergency crews respond same day, around the clock.
Do I need a permit to remove a tree in Madison?
Most private residential removals in Metro Nashville, Madison included, need no permit. Trees in the public right of way and protected areas follow different rules, so we confirm the rules for your exact address before work begins.
Which neighborhoods do you serve in Madison?
We serve Neelys Bend, Amqui, Cedar Hill, the Gallatin Pike corridor, and everywhere in between.
How much does tree removal cost in Madison?
Size, condition, and access drive the price. A hollow silver maple over a one story house on a narrow Madison lot has to come down in small rigged pieces, which takes far more time than dropping a sound tree in the open. Estimates are free, written, and itemized.
Are you licensed and insured?
Yes. Full general liability and workers' compensation on every crew member, with a Certificate of Insurance emailed before work begins.
How do you know if a tree has hidden decay?
Old topping cuts, storm wounds, and pruning done badly decades ago leave entry points that become cavities you cannot see from the yard. A mallet, a probe, and a trained eye find most of them, which is why our estimates involve walking the tree and checking it by hand, not pricing it from the curb.
