Tree Removal
Whether a tree is damaged, dead, or a safety hazard, our crews ensure safe and efficient removal with minimal disruption to your property.
Learn more →From the Stones River bluffs to the new streets toward Mt. Juliet, Hermitage carries some of the county's densest hackberry stands. We know exactly how those trees fail.
Serving Hermitage through our Nashville crew, with the same expert arborists, the same standards, and 24/7 storm availability.
Hermitage sits on the bluffs and bottoms of the Stones River, and hackberry rules the canopy here, seeding into every fence line and growing fast in the limestone soil. Older neighborhoods like Riverwood and Jackson Downs carry mature hackberries and oaks at full size, while the newer subdivisions toward Mt. Juliet are planting their first generation of shade and need it trained early.

Hermitage is hackberry country, and hackberry is a tree that rewards attention and punishes neglect. It seeds into every fence line, grows fast in the limestone soil above the Stones River, and then spends its maturity shedding limbs it can no longer support. Around Riverwood and Jackson Downs, mature hackberries stand over roofs, drives, and play sets, and telling a serviceable tree from a liability is a structural judgment, not a guess from the ground.
The bluffs raise the stakes. Trees along the Stones River edge root shallow over rock, and a lean that has been stable for years can stop being stable in one wet week. An experienced arborist conducts every estimate in Hermitage, specs the work to ANSI A300 industry standards, and puts the plan in writing before anything is scheduled. We would rather prune a tree into another decade of service than remove it a decade early. A Certificate of Insurance is emailed before work begins.
Hackberry limb drop happens here in volume. Hermitage may carry more mature hackberry per street than any part of the county, and the species drops heavy deadwood in summer heat with no storm involved. Routine deadwooding on a sensible cycle keeps these trees safe and standing. Skipping it converts good shade trees into emergency calls, usually in July.
Bluff edge rooting limits how much anchor the river side trees really have. Soil above the Stones River bluffs runs shallow over limestone, and big trees there hold on with wide, flat root plates instead of deep ones. Saturated weeks loosen that grip. We look hard at lean, soil heave, and exposed roots on every bluff line property before we recommend anything.
Two generations of canopy need two kinds of care. Riverwood and the older neighborhoods carry full size trees that need weight management and honest risk calls, while the newer subdivisions toward Mt. Juliet are growing their first shade and need structural pruning while the cuts are still small. We work both ends of that spectrum every week, and the estimates read differently for each.
