Construction root damage along Franklin’s active development corridors is a significant but underrecognized problem. Mack Hatcher Parkway, Liberty Pike, and the Berry Farms corridor have all seen major infrastructure investment in recent years. Trees within 50 feet of construction activity should be assessed for root zone compaction, even if they appear healthy.
