Tree Removal
Whether a tree is damaged, dead, or a safety hazard, our crews ensure safe and efficient removal with minimal disruption to your property.
Learn more →Herriman's young canopy needs different care than an established suburb, from formative pruning to storm response when canyon wind rolls through Salt Lake County.
Serving Herriman, Utah through our Salt Lake City crew, with the same expert arborists, the same standards, and the same around the clock availability.
Herriman is one of Salt Lake County's fastest growing cities, and most of its street trees and yard plantings are still young, which means the arborist work here looks different than in an older neighborhood. Formative pruning now determines whether a tree grows into a safe, well structured shade tree or a hazard twenty years from today.

Herriman, in Salt Lake County, is still one of the newest cities on the valley’s west side, and that changes what tree care looks like here. Most yards are five to fifteen years old, so the biggest risk is not a failing giant but a young tree trained wrong from the start. Structural pruning in the first several years sets branch angles and a single leader, the difference between a tree that stands on its own in thirty years and one that splits apart in a windstorm. Skip that early shaping and you inherit the problem later, usually at a worse time and a higher cost.
An arborist trained to read a young tree’s structure, not just trim what looks overgrown, is what keeps a new landscape from becoming an expensive removal down the line. We produce written tree risk assessments using TRAQ methodology, accepted by HOAs, insurance carriers, and legal counsel, and carry full general liability and workers’ compensation insurance on every crew.
New construction lots often plant honeylocust, green ash, and Norway maple straight into Herriman’s alkaline clay, soil that locks up iron and shows it fast: young leaves yellow between green veins within a season or two if the tree was not chosen or amended for the site. Because organic matter is thin here, that chlorosis shows up sooner than in older, more amended soil elsewhere in the valley.
Wind is the other factor new residents underestimate. Herriman sits exposed on the valley’s west side, and downslope canyon winds still reach it, especially where dense conifers were planted in tight rows as an instant privacy screen. Without room to sway and thin canopy structure, those rows are the first thing to come down in a wind event. Heavy wet spring snow and late frosts add further stress to young bark and branch unions that have not yet hardened off. An arborist who knows the difference between a tree that needs thinning now and one that is structurally sound already saves homeowners from both extremes: over pruning a healthy tree, and ignoring a real hazard.
