Tree Removal
Whether a tree is damaged, dead, or a safety hazard, our crews ensure safe and efficient removal with minimal disruption to your property.
Learn more →Murray's giant cottonwoods and silver maples were here before most of its houses. We keep those giants safe over the small lots that grew up beneath them.
Serving Murray through our Salt Lake City crew, with the same expert arborists, the same standards, and the same around the clock availability.
Murray is one of the valley's oldest cities, and its canopy shows it. Giant Fremont cottonwoods and silver maples line Little Cottonwood Creek and the blocks around Murray Park, many of them older than the homes beneath them. Trees that size over lots that small leave no margin for guesswork: every big limb hangs over a roof, a fence, or a neighbor's yard.

Murray’s defining tree problem is scale in tight quarters. The cottonwoods along Little Cottonwood Creek and the silver maples around Murray Park are among the largest trees in the valley, and they stand over small, older lots where a single misjudged limb lands on a kitchen. Working trees like these is a rigging discipline: knowing what a hundred year old cottonwood’s wood will hold, which silver maple unions hide decay, and how to lower a thousand pounds of trunk over a house without touching it. That knowledge is the entire difference between maintenance and catastrophe on the valley floor.
Every estimate in Murray is conducted by an experienced arborist working to ANSI A300 industry standards. When the question is whether a giant stays or goes, we provide TRAQ qualified written assessments rather than a guess, and every job begins with a written plan and a current Certificate of Insurance before work starts. With trees this size, verify the paperwork before anyone climbs.
Cottonwood giants along Little Cottonwood Creek are Murray’s signature trees and its biggest risk. Fremont cottonwoods grow fast, drink hard, and shed enormous limbs as they age, and the creek corridor keeps their root zones saturated and their wood heavy. Some are sound and worth preserving with crown management. Others are hollow at the unions and overdue. Telling the two apart is assessment work, not eyeball work.
Silver maple brittleness shows up in every summer storm season. The silver maples planted across Murray’s older blocks decades ago built size quickly out of weak, decay prone wood, and they shed limbs onto the small lots beneath them. Crown reduction and deadwood removal on a schedule keeps a mature silver maple serviceable. Ignoring one over a driveway is a bet against the weather.
Mature canopy over tight access turns routine work into logistics. Murray’s older neighborhoods pack big trees into narrow side yards with detached garages, low utility drops, and shared fence lines, so limbs come down on ropes, not in free fall. That is climber and rigging work, and it is where experience, proper hardware, and insurance stop being abstractions.
