Steep access and rigging shape nearly every job in the city. Slopes off Tyne Boulevard and Otter Creek Road put big hardwoods above rooflines where nothing can be dropped whole and no bucket truck can set up. That means climbing, rigging lines, controlled lowering, and sometimes tracked equipment sized for a narrow driveway, with the hillside itself, its soil and understory, protected as carefully as the house below it.

A mature mixed hardwood canopy over homes is the reason people live here and the thing that needs managing. White oaks, tulip poplars, sugar maples, and hickories carry deadwood high over roofs, and poplars in particular shed large limbs in summer wind. Routine crown cleaning and inspection on a few year cycle keeps the forest feel without the forest risk.

Storm loading on saturated slopes brings down otherwise healthy trees. Heavy rain soaks the hillside, then wind or ice arrives, and root plates lift on ground that held for decades. After major weather we walk properties for new leans, cracked soil at the root plate, and hung limbs, because on a slope, a leaning tree rarely waits politely.
