Whether a tree is damaged, dead, or a safety hazard, our crews ensure safe and efficient removal with minimal disruption to your property.
Learn more →Holly Springs is one of Cherokee County's newer subdivisions, and most of its yards lean on Leyland cypress screening that fails one tree at a time, not all at once.
Holly Springs is covered out of our Woodstock base, so a call here reaches the same expert arborists, the same TRAQ risk assessments, and the same around the clock line as the rest of Cherokee County.

Holly Springs is one of the newer builds in this corner of Cherokee County, and many lots were finished with Leyland cypress planted fast for privacy screening rather than left with whatever hardwoods were already on the land. That tree grows quickly, but on red clay that holds water around the roots, it is also one of the shorter lived choices a homeowner can make, and a canker infected row rarely fails all at once. It fails tree by tree along the hedge, which is exactly why an arborist needs to walk the whole screen rather than cut the one obviously dead tree and move on.
The newer grading around these subdivisions also means more compacted, disturbed clay than an older Cherokee County lot, which puts extra strain on anything trying to root deep. We produce written tree risk assessments using TRAQ methodology, accepted by HOAs, insurance carriers, and legal counsel, and carry the insurance that matters that works a Holly Springs property.
Holly Springs properties commonly mix planted Leyland cypress screens with mature red maple and willow oak left standing from the land’s earlier wooded state. Leyland cypress canker is the pest we watch closest in these newer subdivisions, since a single infected tree in a hedge threatens the whole screen if not caught early, and replacing a full row costs far more than catching it at one tree. Red maples here often show shallow rooting and a growing lean where construction grading and nearby hardscape have narrowed the root zone.
Cherokee County sees the same storm pattern as the rest of the Piedmont: fast building summer thunderstorms, remnant hurricanes arriving as heavy rain, and rare ice storms that add real weight to an already stressed canopy. A leaning red maple or a canker weakened hedge is the tree most likely to go down when that weather hits. An expert arborist reads the cause behind a lean or a dying screen tree, not just the symptom, before any saw fires up on your property.
